A visit to Lambert Creations, beautiful French bridal couture
Posted on December 21 2019
It was an early start last Monday when I got up bright and early (well, early anyway- bright came a bit later than 3am!), to drive to the airport and catch a flight to Rennes in Northern France. I was off to spend the day with one of our French stockists- Lambert Creations.
I first met this incredible French brand two years ago, when we were both exhibiting at a bridal trade show in Dusseldorf. Every time I walked past their stand I fell in love with their dresses a little more- so much so that I ended up getting married in one earlier this year (if you missed my blog you can catch up here)! I love their style which is a combination of laid back boho with classic elegance- just gorgeous!
So imagine my delight when earlier this year we welcomed them on board as a Rachel Simpson stockist! It's a great partnership as our shoes really do compliment their collection, and I was really excited not only to see the wedding dress workshop but also to see our shoes in the shop!
After a short drive from Rennes we arrived and had a really good catch up over coffee- we've got some exciting plans together in 2020 so watch this space! Then it was time for lunch which was, of course, delicious! After lunch I was lucky enough to take a look around the workshop and it was an absolute treat to see their stunning dresses being made.
All Lambert Creation dresses are made by hand right there in Montgermont, which is another reason why I love the brand so much as it has a similar ethos to us- making everything using traditional skills and methods. There are so many processes and pieces which go into each dress, from cutting the perfect pattern for each brides, to stitching and finishing with so much attention to detail at every stage. As well as working hard on some beautiful dresses to go out to brides, Lambert were also working on their brand new 2021 collection which will be unveiled during Barcelona Bridal Week next April- it was stunning!
Upstairs above the workshop is the boutique, where brides can try on the collection and find their dream dress. It actually overlooks the workshop so you can see how everything is made too, which I think is a really nice touch. It was great to see our shoes in the boutique too, and know that they'll soon be finding their perfect bride!
I found it so inspiring to spend time with such a like minded brand, and want to thank the lovely team at Lambert Creations for a thoroughly enjoyable day. If you're looking for your Rachel Simpson shoes and are based in Northern France I can highly recommend a visit!
