Something old, something new, something borrowed, some blue shoes...

You know how the saying goes, "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue". More often than not the first three are easy enough, with a new dress, perhaps an old piece of jewellery from a family member, and a borrowed veil or accessory. But what to do for your something blue- do you go for the uber traditional garter option, will your dress designer sew a little blue ribbon into the lining of your dress?

We're big fans of a little pop of colour here at RS, and it always makes us happy to see our brides rocking this on their big day. Whilst we do have a few bold statement colours in the collection, our most popular colours by far are the more subtle shades, none more so than our beautiful blue shoes. Put simply, blue shoes are the perfect option because:

a) They can be your 'something blue';

b) They add a chic yet subtle pop of colour peeking out underneath your dress;

c) They work really well with silver accessories or beaded embellishment and;

d) They're easy to match to many coloured bridesmaid dresses.

So which to choose? Mimosa blue is a really stunning style, as demonstrated beautifully by RS bride Maisie Baker (below and cover photo);

Another beautiful RS bride Maria Aldridge also looked sensation in Mimosa (and it looks like Maria's beautiful niece loved them too!)..

We are also more than a little bit in love with how Kristin Hohn Kowalski styled her Mimosa blue shoes for her May wedding in Syracuse, New York;

Thanks to B. Fotographic for the capturing the moment so beautifully :)

We think you'll agree that Maisie, Maria and Kristin all look in-credible, and are the perfect example of how well blue wedding shoes work for your something blue. Thanks beautiful ladies and congratulations! xx

Other blue shoes in the collection are Gardenia- Mimosa's elegant, closed toe sister style;

Isabelle is a beautiful, art deco inspired shoe in ice blue leather with metallic detailing:

Amalia was new to the collection this year, and we are head over heels in love with her vibrant blue suede..

There's even an option in our Under £100 shoes collection, the super chic Scarlett court shoe in ice blue suede. The subtle platform not only looks great, but also gives you some added comfort as it makes the heel feel a lot less high than it looks- perfect for brides needing a bit of extra height.

And of course another fantastic thing about choosing blue wedding shoes is that you can easily wear them again after the big day- what's not to love about that?
