Grand National Race Day Style

If you like a flutter on the horses you'll no doubt be looking forward to the infamous Grand National this Saturday. Whether you're a bet-from-the-comfort-of-your-sofa kind of person, or you're actually going to Aintree, there is something rather exciting about one of the nation's most well known event of the racing calendar.

If you're anything like us, one of the things we love the most about race season are the fantastic ladies day outfits, not least for the incredible race day hats and statement headpieces which are on show. One designer we love is the super talented Sharper Millinery, who are based here in Birmingham near our HQ. Owner and milliner Sally has been experimenting with colours and fabrics since a young age. Her hats and headpieces have been worn by elegant ladies at the races, scooping multiple prizes for Best Dressed Lady and Best Hat.

She owns up to being a ‘bit of a magpie’, and loves collecting vintage jewellery, sumptuous fabrics and delicate trims to create something truly unique; whether it’s for a bridal veil, a special occasion hat or a racing headpiece.

Here we choose three of our favourite pieces from her Racing Collection, and create three different looks for Ladies Day.
