5 tips to style a Winter Wedding
Posted on December 09 2019
A lot of brides choose to have a winter wedding as it feels even more romantic and magical. However, there are things you need to be aware of if you do plan to have a Winter Wedding. But don't worry we've done all the research for you.
1) You want to be warm
Usually, if you're having a wedding in the winter time, it can be cold and quite possibly wet. So you'll need to take this into consideration when you're selecting what you'll wear. For your dress maybe you'll want long sleeves or consider buying a top layer like a wrap, shawl or cape. Another nice addition might be a box of blankets for guests when it gets a little bit chilly at night.
2) Remember the darker evenings
With winter you get the darker days, so make sure you check all your timings and ensure you get your photography done earlier on in the day- so you don't miss the light. It's also a good idea to visit your wedding venue at night, so you know exactly what everything will look like.
3) Use candles to add some romance
And when it does get dark, we think candles and fairy lights create the perfect scene for a romantic wedding! For outside you could think of firepits and lanterns which will give a cozy atmosphere.
4) Think of your shoes
For your shoes, you might want to opt for a closed toe, that way you're covered whatever the weather is. If you're having photo's outside and the ground is wet, clean heels are the perfect solution to stop your heels from sinking. Just pop them on the end of your heel then 'voila'!
