How to wear your wedding shoes again- whatever the occasion
Posted on March 13 2020
Wearing your wedding shoes again after the big day is something we talk about a lot here at Rachel Simpson. Buying your shoes isn't an insignificant purchase, and we want you to be able to wear them more than once. When I first started designing wedding shoes I didn't do it with this in mind however, I just believed that wedding shoes should naturally be a reflection of your usual style, so it stands to reason that you'd want to wear them again. So I didn't design the wedding shoe and then alter it somehow so it was re-wearable, they were always versatile from the start and it's something people quickly picked up on and that has now become something of a feature of RS shoes.
Obviously we're not detracting from their specialness on the day itself and a large proportion of our customers do buy our shoes for their wedding first and foremost. But isn't it lovely to be able to pop them on again afterwards and be reminded of your magical day?
Today I wanted to show you how to style Rachel Simpson shoes three different ways so you can wear them again, whatever the occasion.
AFTER WORK COCKTAILS
If ever I don't know what to wear on a night out I always go for an amazing pair of heels and jeans as my go to, probably with a statement clutch too. It's a look which is stylish and put together but with minimal effort- win win! Here we've styled the Aurelia shoe (one of the new styles from our Spring Summer collection) and matching bag Sabine with dark skinnies and a simple nude satin top. The second look sees old favourite Ophelia (blush ivory suede with mixed metallic straps) and matching bag Opal with a mid-wash jean and simple ivory silk tee.
OUT OUT SATURDAY
Everyone loves a bit of sparkle on a night out out right? In this second look we've styled two of our gorgeous glitter heels with a slightly more glam wardrobe to show you two ideas which would be perfect for a big night out, or even a glitzy evening event or cocktail party. First up is the stunning Isadora shoe which oozes use as much (if not more!) glamour than a skyscraper heel. The rose gold glitter works surprisingly well as quite a neutral colour so can match a wide range of colours- here we've teamed it with an on trend berry wrapper dress and completed the look with the Quartz box clutch bag.
For the second look we've paired a classic black jumpsuit with our statement Candyfloss gold glitter heel and Coco gold box clutch. Simple but oh so effective. This look would work just as well with your favourite LBD.
BEST DRESSED WEDDING GUEST
For our third and final look today we're showing you two ways to wear our iconic Mimosa t-bar shoe, both which would work perfectly to wear as a guest to a wedding, christening or similar day time event. First up we've teamed sparkling Mimosa quartz with a tailored cropped trouser and simple nude satin top, and finished the look with the quartz glitter clutch bag.
For a beautifully romantic yet on trend look we've combined a gorgeous pleated skirt in mint green satin with an understated grey knit top with puff sleeves. You could wear this to pretty much any daytime event, or mix up the top for a more dressy feel. Complete the look with the Mia clutch bag.
So that's just three types of look, I could go on! I'd love to see how you've styled your wedding shoes after the big day.
