Our top picks for high summer wedding shoes

With the official start of the school summer holidays we got to thinking about summer, and our top picks for the shoes we'd choose for a high summer wedding. What do we mean by high summer? Traditionally August is seen as the height of summer, even though we've been lucky enough to have had plenty of gorgeous sunshine already this year!

If you're getting married or going to a wedding or special occasion in August here are a few of my top picks for high summer shoes. So get that pedicure booked (now we're finally allowed), and get those toes out in these beauties..!

Now I have definitely got my eye on a pair of these next time I've got a special occasion to go to. Whilst I love all the flats, for myself personally I think these gorgeous flat gold sandals are the ones I'd get the most wear out. Whenever I go on holiday I tend to wear metallic sandals so after the special occasion I know I'd get loads of wear out of them.

I think popping on a pair of metallic flats is a really quick and easy way to take a summer outfit such as a maxi dress from day to night- add a pair of metallic drop earrings too and you're there!

Okay I don't mean to sound like a broken record but I just love metallic sandals in the summer! There's something about the way they compliment tanned feet and a bright pedicure which just works so beautifully. So my next top pick for a high summer wedding or occasion is our Giselle rose gold sandal. It's a classic curved scrappy sandal which manages to be both slightly vintage and gorgeously modern at the same time.

I love the mix of rose gold and gold leathers, and the open back gives it a truly summery vibe. I'm all about the least effort when it comes to the hot summer months too so the low heel is just perfect too!

Continuing the 'effortless summer vibes' theme my next pick is the lovely Cecelia. Set on the same cute little heel as Giselle she is supremely comfortable and she has a wonderful summery feel. Perhaps this is down to the white ivory leather which is a little brighter than our classic ivory and set against the gold leather appliqués the effect is just stunning.

People often think closed toes are mainly for Autumn Winter weddings, but if you go for something a little more transitional they can of course be worn all year round. The reason I really like Rosita for the summer months is because it's open sided so it allows your foot to breathe a little more than a full closed shoe. There are also cute little cut out areas on the front of the shoe which allows even more air to get to your feet so on a practical level Rosita is a great little shoe..not to mention she if of course rather gorgeous!

Okay I'm going back to a classic now and choosing Mimosa as my final top pick for a high summer wedding. One of the main reasons is the gorgeous range of pastel colours she's available so it's easy to match them with a summer wedding theme. Whether you have a vintage wedding theme and go for Mimosa mint, or a classic romantic theme and opt for the nude/ rose gold combo there's pretty much a colour for everyone!
