Scarily Comfy Wedding Shoes
Posted on October 27 2019
Okay, it's that time of year when your inbox is full of 'frighteningly good offers' or 'no tricks just treats' emails, so before I start I should perhaps apologise for the slightly cheesy title! That said, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em and all that ;)
And the truth is, our shoes are scarily comfortable. You wouldn't believe the number of times we've seen brides try them on, bringing their previous shoe experiences with them and expecting them to be uncomfy, only to be what we can only describe as shocked, that the shoes are heels and they're almost as comfy as slippers!
And the thing is, that doesn't happen by accident- it's down to three main factors of a Rachel Simpson shoe:
1. The Perfect Fit
It takes a while to perfect a Rachel Simpson shoe, and there are usually several patterns and prototypes in between it being a sketch on paper and a finished product. We carefully fit test every new style, making as many teeny tiny adjustments to the cut as we need to get the perfect dimensions. That can be as little as 2mm sometimes, for example to make sure the edge of the shoe doesn't rub your foot.
2. A Material World
A good pattern is wasted if you don't then use the right materials and we choose only the very best. Our leathers and suedes are super soft, so not only do they mould to the shape of your foot over time, they're also breathable so your feet don't get hot and sweaty. Our glitters and fabrics are beautiful quality too- I mean not all sparkle is the same, trust me! Every pair of shoes is lined with leather too, encasing your foot in softness.
3. Last But Not Least
Another thing you might not realise is that we develop all our own lasts. These are the plastic foot shaped moulds which the shoes are made on, so if they're not the right shape or dimensions the shoe won't be either. Many shops work with standard lasts which can be a little narrow or tight, so we develop our own to give your feet plenty of space to move around in.
And that's it- a few tricks to give your feet a treat! (groan, sorry...)
Drop me a comment if you have any fit questions or want to know how to find the most comfortable wedding shoes- it's one of the things I get asked a lot! And in the meantime why not click here to take a look at our blog about five of our favourite low heel wedding shoes that you can wear all night?
Happy Hallowe'en everyone!
