Sophie and Louis | Tyn Dwr Hall | 27.10.18
Posted on February 04 2019
We're delighted to introduce you to the beautiful wedding of Sophie and Louis, who tied the knot last October at Tyn Dwr Hall in Llangollen, North Wales.
Sophie and Louis met at Loughborough university in 2010 when they were on the same retail marketing and management course. Friendship turned to romance after a year, and they've been together ever since.
We caught up with Sophie who told us all about their magical day, captured to perfection by Sophie Elizabeth Mitchel
First a few facts please- when and where was the big day?
We got married on 27th October 2018, at Tyn Dwr Hall in Llangollen, North Wales. Tyn Dwr is a beautiful mix of the old Hall with a modern twist as it’s recently been redone. It’s set in the welsh valleys so is surrounded by beautiful country side.
Tell us about the best, most unforgettable wedding moment?
Walking down the aisle was 100000% my favourite moment- just everything about it was amazing. Seeing Louis stood at the top waiting for me, looking around the room and seeing every single person that I love and care about there, waiting for my dad and I was just amazing. My dad had been really poorly twelve months before the wedding, and suffered three cardiac arrests whilst working out in the gym in LA. So to have him give me away in that moment felt so special too. I just felt like the luckiest girl alive in that moment.
What is your top tip for wedding planning, what brought everything together?
I absolutely loved planning ! So many people said to me that planning a wedding is stressful, but I can honestly say that I enjoyed every second of our eighteen months planning. I am a bit of an organisational freak so started with a colour co-ordinated spreadsheet and that was my bible throughout. I was so lucky that I found really good suppliers who made everything so much fun- I would say get the best suppliers you can and everything will be a breeze. You want to enjoy the planning and build up as the day is over so quickly, so you need the planning to be an enjoyable part of the process- after all you only do it once !
Who was your wedding gown by, and what made you choose it?
My wedding gown was by Karen Willis Holmes. I had seen a lot of my friends get married in lace so wanted something different to that. I fell in love with KWH collection as it is so sparkly and unique ! I went for a boho look as I had always wanted a flower crown, and it complimented the gown perfectly.
Tell us which Rachel Simpson shoes you wore?
I wore the Monique rose gold shoes, and also had the matching bag which I kept in my bedroom at the venue to top up my lippy when necessary!
Monique are no longer available, but we love Gabriella for an alternative rose gold t-bar.
