Spotlight on Brautzimmer- our stockist in Salzburg, Austria
Posted on December 09 2019
I love the fact that we sell our shoes in so many different countries now, and one of the things which makes it so enjoyable are the genuinely lovely people we work with. As part of my job I'm lucky enough to go to some beautiful bridal shops around the world, as I try and visit as many Rachel Simpson stockists as I can. Email and Skype are great, but I'm a huge believer in meeting people face to face as much as you can, not least so you can really get to know them as well as better understand their needs..and of course see their stunning boutiques!
Last month I went out to Vienna to take part in the Wedding Sparkle show at the Albertina Museum. If you missed my report from the show, click here to have a read. As I was going to be in Austria I wanted to take advantage of that and see as many of our stockists there as I could. Our stockist from Villach- Brautgeflüster- in southern Austria was also exhibiting at the show so we saw them there, and on the Monday after the show I spent the morning (and a very nice lunch) with Heyday, our Vienna stockist. Looking at the map, Salzburg was just a train journey away so on the Monday afternoon I travelled west across Austria and arrived early evening.
What a beautiful city! Salzburg is so, so pretty and is actually where The Sound of Music was filmed! It's nestled in the mountains so when you look up from the cobbled streets you can see the misty topped hills (which must be alive with music no?). It's here that we have another of our Rachel Simpson stockists in Austria, Brautzimmer.
I popped in to see owner Sevim at Brautzimmer on the Tuesday morning, and let me tell you it is a beautiful boutique! The minute you walk in it feels serene and relaxing, and they have an absolutely stunning bridal wear range including Anna Kara, Suzanne Neville, Rina Cossack and Agata Wojtkiewicz.
The shop has a spacious ground floor housing the bridal wear collection, which also includes veils, bridal cover ups and locally made accessories, with a second dressing room on the first floor. I particularly loved the bridal gallery which runs all the way up the stairs, with photos and testimonials of Brautizimmer brides!
Another highlight was meeting Sevim's two gorgeous greyhounds, who were both just chilling out behind the counter. In fact they were so peaceful I didn't even realise they were there for ages!
It was great to have a coffee with Sevim and finally see the shop, as we're been working with the since we met earlier this year in Barcelona. If you're based in Austria and are after a pair of Rachel Simpson shoes, I can highly recommend a visit- perhaps you'll even find your dress there too!
