Style the Sale- Mint & Metallics
Posted on July 25 2019
In today's Style the Sale I wanted to look at one of my all time favourite colours- gorgeous, timeless, elegant mint green. It's one of the first colours I introduced way back when we launched in 2008, and it's been a part of the collection ever since. Even our shoe boxes are mint green with our logo in metallic gold! Judging from the love we get from you for all our mint green shoes, I'm not the only one with this little obsession!
So why do we love it so much? I think it's a wonderfully versatile colour which you can wear with pretty much any style of dress. It obviously has a very strong vintage feel, and works particularly well coupled with a soft coral or peach- a classic combination. Mint green also works well mixed with tonal shades, so a slightly more blue green or even touches of soft lilac as a subtle contrast.
No mint green shoe would be complete without a little touch of metallic gold or silver, so you'll tend to see a gold or silver t-bar or delicate trim on most of our mint wedding shoes! There are a few amazing mint options in our big summer sale, which I'm going to talk you through now!
Undoubtedly one of our more show stopping shoes, Amalia is a collaboration with award winning British accessory brand, Laurel Lime. Each shoe has a handmade trim on the front which is made with sparkling crystals and delicate gold leaves, held together with twisted gold wire. The gold contrast beautifully with the soft mint green suede, and really sparkles when you walk.
Our gorgeous Coco box clutch bag goes perfectly with the Amalia mint, and is a really great size which fits all you need for an event- including a large smartphone if you have one.
Another lovely mint wedding shoe in the sale is the vintage inspired beauty, Chloe. It is made in the same buttery soft mint green suede as Amalia, and is perfect for brides wanting a closed toe wedding shoe. The toe shape is a soft round shape which looks really elegant and not bulky, as some round toes can. I really love the metallic gold block heel on Chloe too, which gives this vintage inspired shoe a cute modern twist.
As pictured above, you can't go wrong adding a cute little Coco bag in mint green suede to complete your vintage wedding look.
If you're having a mint green wedding but don't want to bring it in directly with your shoes, a metallic wedding shoe will really complement the colour scheme. There are some amazing metallic styles in our big summer sale, and the other great thing about gold and silver shoes is that they go with everything- long after the big day itself!
Gigi has a slight touch of disco about it, and you can see it on the dancefloor as comfortably as walking down the aisle! The snakeskin effect gives the shoe a definite glam vibe, but it's a soft, almost vintage silver so isn't too 'in your face'. Gigi is a wonderful all rounder and can be worn with a wide range of dresses, from vintage to modern and everything in between. She is also available in a gorgeous vintage style gold leather.
Wear with the stunning Layla silver clutch bag to complete the look. Layla is also available in gold.
Last up today is one of my personal favourites, one of my 'go to' shoes for an important meeting or special occasion- Maria. They're super elegant but have a gorgeous low straight heel so you can wear them from office the evening really easily (I can vouch for this, many times!). I love the delicacy of the gold strappy sandal part at the front, and the knot gives them a cute vintage vibe. Also available in silver.
There are some stunning styles in the sale at the moment, all with at least 30% off (some are even half price!), so now's the time to tick those wedding shoes off the list. Everything in the sale is now discontinued, so when we sell out of a size we won't be getting any more in. If you have your heart set on a style don't leave it too long- get in touch if you need any advice on sizing or styling.
