Wedding Wednesday- 6 Romantic Wedding Styling Ideas
Posted on October 02 2019
This Wedding Wednesday we are sharing something a little different with you, 6 ideas for planning a perfect romantic wedding. As a bride-to be your wedding colour palette and styling will set the tone for your whole day. So we are showing you 6 ideas for a romantic wedding.
At Rachel Simpson shoes we are lucky enough to collaborate with other amazing wedding brands and suppliers within the wedding industry. This photoshoot, curated by Jade Leung (owner of Jade Leung Wedding and Event Planner) was a little too good not to share with you, we think Jade put together the ultimate romantic wedding shoot, which now we are lucky enough to share with you.
The concept of the shoot was to blend ‘romantic’ with ‘modern’, and also to show that it is possible to incorporate a bright colour like Pantone’s colour of the Year ‘Living Coral’ in a muted way.- Jade Leung
1- Floral Stationery
Set the scene and tone of the day with soft floral stationary. Including invites and save the dates.
2- Consider Colour
Colour plays a big part in setting the scene, Jade cleverly utilised colour throughout the decor to create a soft romantic tone, while still putting in pops of bright coral so it still felt new and modern.
Many of my clients are wanting to include brighter colours in their wedding styling at the moment but are afraid that it won’t look romantic enough in comparison to the white and cream palette that has been so popular in recent years.- Jade Leung
3- The Dress and Accessories
The showstopper of the day will be the dress and the accompanying accessories. Romantic wedding dresses are perfect for the bride who wants to feel and look refined, graceful, elegant, and above all, beautiful on her wedding day. The shoes can only elevate the look and give you that final touch to complete your look.
The wedding dress designer we used was Amy Mair Couture. Her gowns are all exquisite. So delicate and intricate. I love her whole collection so much, we actually used two gowns – which enabled us to create both a daytime and an evening look and even though both gowns are pretty different when you compare them side by side, they still have the same romantic look that we were looking for as well as being on point in terms of colour palette.- Jade Leung
I have been following Rachel Simpson shoes for a long time on social media and love the bridal collection. The collection perfectly pairs romantic pastel colours with modern metallics, so it was just what I was looking for. I chose the Amalia Powder pink for the daytime look, and the Olivia Mauve for the evening look. I love the T-Bar style of both, with the added glitz on the Olivia shoe perfect for the evening look. The quality of the shoes were amazing. It was a real struggle to send them back!- Jade Leung
Amalia is crafted in soft powder pink suede, the suede gives an overall softer look that works perfectly with such a feminine, romantic shoe.
A light and airy venue will create the perfect setting for a romantic wedding.
Pant Du is a local vineyard and has the most amazing views. The indoor space is also a blank canvas – with white walls, tall open ceilings and huge windows. It was therefore perfect as we knew it would have great lighting and have plenty of height for our installations!- Jade Leung
Flowers are key to create a romantic wedding and we think the more the better. What we love most in the bouquet is the combinations of textures the florist used, it all results in the most incredible romantic bouquet.
5- Balloon Arch
A balloon arch as a centerpiece not only makes for pretty spectacular photos, it means you can also incorporate all the beautiful tones you selected and of course more flowers to give it that soft romantic touch.
6- Make- up
Keeping your make up soft and natural would compliment this style of a romantic wedding. We suggest blush and peachy tones with a touch of metallic for that extra sparkle.
My favourite shot of the day is this. A modern bride with sleek hair and minimal make-up, looking fierce yet soft, romantic and pretty!- Jade Leung
Hopefully, these 6 ideas for a romantic wedding has given you lots of inspiration for your own wedding. We want to say a special thanks to Jade Leung for putting together this amazing shoot and to all the other suppliers who were involved.

The wedding suppliers I used are all pretty much local to North Wales. This was important for me in this shoot as there is a group of small business owners in the area who are all supportive of each other and trying to push forward the wedding industry where we have traditionally been a little slow in terms of being modern, trend setters in the past. For the dress designer and shoe designer I went with suppliers that WOW me every time I see a piece from their collection!
