Wedding Wednesday- Charlotte and Mark's Luxury Country Wedding
Posted on August 21 2019
This Wedding Wednesday we are sharing with you an elegant, romantic wedding in Northamptonshire. Charlotte and Mark planned this luxury country house wedding in 18 months since getting engaged in the beautiful Bali! (Wait till you hear how Mark proposed!) All the details; flowers, table decor, and cake really came together to create a truly stunning wedding with a romantic feel.
1. Tell us a little bit about you as a couple?
Mark and I met on November 2010 and he finally proposed during my birthday trip to Bali in 2017. The proposal itself was one of dreams, it was absolutely magical - a candlelit garden filled with roses and petals, a private chef, and the ring was delivered by the most adorable puppy called Betty! I was literally blown away. We then spent 18 months planning our dream wedding which took place on the 26th April 2019.
2. Tell us about the wedding?
After a thorough venue search, we decided on Fawsley Hall, a beautiful luxury country house hotel surrounded by stunning formal gardens close to our home town in Northamptonshire.
Over the years, I had always hoped I’d get married there, so when it ticked all the boxes, I was delighted. Our theme was simply romance - soft hues, delicate lighting and lots of flowers and candles.
Who was your wedding dress by?
I’d planned a big day of dress shopping with my Maid of Honour, but in the first shop and third dress I tried, I found the one! There were even happy tears! The dress by Maggie Sottero wasn’t what I thought I’d go for but the expertise of the staff at Serendipity Bridal (Weedon) knew that this elegant and timeless piece was worth a try, they were absolutely right, I felt a million dollars, and to top it off this beautiful gown was even under my budget, allowing me to buy a second dress for the evening!

My evening dress (Wed2B River) was chosen to allow me to enjoy my evening on the dance floor, plus it gave our guests the added surprise of a second dress. I found the whole process of finding my dresses unbelievably easy and so enjoyable.

4. Which Rachel Simpson shoes did you pick and why?
I initially tried a pair of the Gabriella Blush shoes; they were beautiful and the style was just what I was after. However, the colour didn’t quite work with my antique ivory dress. Whilst I eagerly waited for the Rachel Simpson 2019 Spring/Summer collection to be released in February, I tried on 26 other pairs of shoes (yes I kept count), none of which came close to style, fit and comfort of the shoes Rachel Simpson offer. As soon as I saw Gabriella in Ivory I knew they were ‘the ones’ and the minute I received them I wasn’t disappointed, they matched my dress perfectly, not only were they beautiful and elegant, but they were so very comfortable.

5. Tell us about the best wedding moment?
It is hard to single out just one memorable moment but nothing compares to the feeling of walking into the ceremony room and seeing your handsome husband-to-be for the first time on your special day. All of the years of being together, months of planning and minutes of nervous excitement build up to an unforgettable and overwhelming moment that will never leave me.
6. What was your first dance song?
You’re All I Need to Get By, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell – we love Motown and up-tempo tunes!
7. What is your Top Tip for wedding planning?
Try and set aside a little safety fund for any of those last minute expenses - it will massively reduce the stress of finding the money if you need it, and if you don't, then you've got yourself a little bonus pot for your honeymoon. Also, if you can stretch your budget to pay for a videographer, do it! We recently received our wedding film and were absolutely blown away by it, each moment captured so beautifully, transporting us back to the best day of our lives.
8. What would your advice be for future brides?
Accept that you can't please everyone- You cannot make everyone happy, and trying to accommodate others will just make the whole process more daunting.
Try not to stress- Remember why you are getting married, and try to truly make the day about the both of you. Have faith in your suppliers and photographer, and trust that they will do their job well, everything has a way of falling into place perfectly!
Take it all in- Make sure to take little moments, just the two of you, to take it all in. The wedding day really does go by so quickly.
Thanks so much to Charlotte and Mark for sharing their wedding with us. That 18 months of planning paid off to create this gorgeous wedding! And we must add that cake is amazing.... can we have some of those metallic macaroons?!
