Wedding Wednesday- Elizabeth and Nick's Cape Cod Wedding
Posted on September 25 2019

Elizabeth and Nick met 6 years ago while they were doing a one year volunteer program in Detroit, Michigan. There they became very good friends but by the end Elizabeth and Nick decided they wanted to be more than that and the rest is history!
1. Tell us about the wedding?
Our wedding theme was romantic and elegant by the sea. We got married in Cape Cod, Massachusetts in a church (classic Cape Cod style) and celebrated our reception at a gorgeous venue on the water.
We had over 200 people in attendance - we both come from big families and are lucky to have many wonderful friends.
Our colors were sage green (groomsmen bowties), rosewater blush (bridesmaids dresses) and light grey suits for the men.
We had both silver and gold metals throughout our decor as well.
2. Who was your wedding dress by?
My wedding dress was the Belmont Dress by Sarah Seven. I bought it at a boutique in Boston called Ceremony. I chose it because it is both classy and sexy.
It’s the dress that I felt the most special in and I fell in love with more and more over time. It’s timeless and embodies simple elegance.
It was also extremely light and comfortable which made for lots of fun on the dance floor!

3. Which Rachel Simpson shoes did you pick and why?
I chose the Cecelia Heels because they are classy, comfortable and have the perfect amount of subtle sparkle!
They have a classic style that do a great job tying in both old and new looks, which is definitely something I am drawn to.
4. Tell us about your best wedding moment?
Such a tough question! The whole day was simply perfect and I felt completely present the whole time.
I think the most unforgettable moment was at the end of the night, the entire dance floor was still packed and the crowd was cheering for one more song from the band.
We had an 11 piece band with brass and everything! They were absolutely sensational and created a palpable energy throughout the whole night.
5. What is your Top Tip for wedding planning?
My Top Tip is to not get overwhelmed by thinking about all of the many things that need to happen. Use timelines you can find in planning books (we loved The Knot) and focus on one thing at a time. Do not forget to ask for help! This is such a special time in your life and those that love you want to help. It takes a village!
6. What would your advice be for future brides?
Make a conscious effort the day before the beginning of your wedding day to turn off planning mode and turn ON party/enjoyment mode. It was really hard to switch into that gear when all you’ve been focused on for so many months is planning this big day, but you want to enjoy it instead of worrying about planning! Trust that you did a great job and make sure to delegate during the wedding day. Your people will show up for you and make sure things get taken care of!
A huge congratulations and thank you Elizabeth and Nick for sharing their day with us. If you would like to be featured on our Wedding Wednesday blog email info@rachelsimpsonshoes.co.uk.
