Wedding Wednesday- Mathilde and Cédric's French Enchanting Wedding
Posted on July 24 2019
On today's Wedding Wednesday we look at Mathilde and Cédric's enchanting french wedding set in a historical castle in the gorgeous french countryside. Mathilde and Cédric instantly clicked when they met 4 years ago and they have been inseparable ever since. In August 2017 Cédric proposed and for the next two years they both planned and prepared this gorgeous floral filled wedding in the South of France. Read on to see all the beautiful handmade decor and glorious scenery of this enchanting wedding.
1. Tell us about where you got married.
We got married in Launac, in the south of France, near my childhood town. We rented a XII century fabulous castle just across from the church for 3 days. The castle was magnificent and holds so much history, it brought so much magic to the whole weekend.
We wanted our wedding to be very romantic and rustic: pale rose, white, old furnitures, lots of flowers everywhere… I made most of the decoration myself like the “welcome” chart and the seating plan, so I could create the exact look I wanted. I am so happy how everything turned out!
My florist Lily and Confettis were incredible and created my flower bouquets and the most beautiful flower and wood arch in the dining area. We also placed the homemade flower bouquets everywhere in the castle, on the tables- it made the setting perfect.
2. Who was your wedding dress by?
I knew I wanted a romantic style dress to compliment the setting and style of the wedding so I chose a Cymbeline dress with a v back lace. I felt so beautiful in it and Cédric loved it too.

3. Which Rachel Simpson shoes did you pick and why?
I chose the Mimosa Quartz shoes. I just love sparkly glitter shoes and I love the originality and comfort of Rachel Simpson shoes too. Cédric actually helped me to choose them, unlike the dress which was secretly hidden until the big day!

4. Tell us your favourite wedding moment.
One moment i will never forget is my entrance with my father at the ceremony, it was so emotional.
I also really enjoyed getting ready on my wedding morning with my family, bridesmaids and my make up artist Céline Vazquez. Marie, my photographer (Marie Barcelo) also arrived on the morning and then we spent the afternoon laughing. So many happy memories that I will cherish forever.
5. What was your first dance song?
We are terrible dancers, so it was a -funny- disaster! We danced to Feeling good by Micheal Bublé followed by “Living in America” to bring all our guest to the dance floor! As I said we are not born dancers, so we weren't coordinated! But it was so funny and we loved every second. We also had a song for our dinner entrance which was “The Power of Love” from Back to the future, as we are huge 80’s lovers.
6.What is your Top Tip for wedding planning, what brought everything together?
I would say to make sure you are organised and prepared. We had to make lots of the decorations ourselves, fortunately our friends and family helped so much to prep for the day and this happened to be one of our favourite parts.
7. What would your advice be for future brides?
Don’t be too late to choose your service provider : location, photographer, caterer, DJ… the best are taken very quickly! I would also say during the wedding take some time to watch whats going on and appreciate it, the day goes so quickly!
