What to wear as the Mother of the Bride
Posted on March 20 2020

It's a big deal deciding what to wear when you're the Mother of the Bride. They say all eyes are on the bride and whilst that's certainly true, they'll also be on you and you want to feel completely fabulous on the big day. You've got enough to think about without having to stress about your mother of the bride outfit too, so today we're looking at three different looks to inspire you. So grab yourself a cuppa and sit back and enjoy.
SPRINGTIME FLORAL (above)
We love a pop of colour in the springtime, as the days finally get lighter and we don't have to wear a million layers! Here we've chosen a gorgeous spring green shift dress with a statement floral print in blush tones. This would work perfectly with a classic tailored ivory blazer which you could then take off in the evening. Accessory wise we love the combination of our new Clementine two-part point in ivory suede, with matching clutch bag Sabine. Clementine has a gorgeous and wearable 6cm heel, with an elegant gold ankle strap for added all day security. Add a pearl cluster pendant and drop earrings for the perfect finishing touch.

MINIMALIST ROMANTIC
Our second look today is a really romantic one which uses the classic (and always stunning!) combination of navy and blush, with a gorgeous soft tiered dress in pale grey as a base. This is the kind of dress which works in any season- simply add a classic navy jacket as an extra layer and to give the outfit a subtly tailored look. As the overall look is beautifully minimalist you can afford to have a little fun with your accessories and go for something statement with your head piece. We've added an oversized floral and feather headpiece in soft blush tones, which we'd wear with a natural eye and lip. Complete the look with a pair of our Giselle shoes in rose gold and gold, and why not customise them with a pair of Petal shoe clips in rose gold to add a little bit of extra pizazz?

MONOCHROME & METALLIC
Our final look today works particularly well for an evening look, if the wedding is perhaps slightly later in the day- or of course if you just fancy a glamorous look (and why not!). We love a full skirt- and one with pockets is even better in our book! Here we've found a dress which looks like a two piece, and pairs a bold black, ivory and gold stripe with a chic fitted black top section. Accessorise with simple gold disc earrings and a statement gold and black watch. Add a company black fascinator or headpiece during the day, which you can then take off in the evening and let your hair loose! Without question this outfit needs a pair of gold Gigi shoes with matching Layla clutch.
